Mission: Our Mission as members of the Morton Baptist Church (MBC) is to make and to be fully

formed followers of Jesus for the Glory of God and Advancement of His Kingdom.

Vision: Morton Baptist Church’s (MBC) vision is to reach the Morton, Kendall, and Hamlin area of

New York State with the love of Jesus and with the teaching and actions of God’s word.

Values: The Values of Morton Baptist Church (MBC) are grounded in the word of God which is the

Holy Bible.

Morton Baptist Church also known as (MBC) is a group of Christ Centered, Bible believing

individuals that make up the community known as the Church. Our Mission is to be and to make fully

formed followers of Jesus for the Glory of God and the Advancement of His Kingdom. This is accomplished

by the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers that follow and obey the word of God. It is the

calling of the Church to be reliant on God and study of the word of God (the Bible). The Church is called to

reach the world with the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ. The Church will teach the full council of

God’s word (the Bible) for it is based in the very character and nature of God.

Section 1 — Mission: The Mission of Morton Baptist Church is to make and to be fully formed

followers of Jesus for the Glory of God and Advancement of His Kingdom. In Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus

gives this command to the apostles and thus to the church: “18 And Jesus came and spoke to them,

saying, all authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make

disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy

Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you

always, even to the end of the age. Amen. (NKJV).

Section 2 — Vision: Morton Baptist Church’s (MBC) vision is to reach the Morton, Kendall, and

Hamlin area of New York State with the love of Jesus and with the teaching and actions of God’s word. We

will seek to reach out to our friends, neighbors, coworkers with the love of the gospel of Jesus in our

hearts, and with the truth of His word on our lips. We will endeavor to teach the full council of His word

and to speak the truth in love.

It is the calling of the Church to make disciples of Jesus and, with God’s help we will do that in our

community and through the actions that God leads us to undertake. Those actions and programs will

change and grow based on what God is calling the church to do and in whatever season of God’s growth

the church has been placed. It is the vision of MBC to teach the Bible in Sunday service, in times of Bible

study, and in small groups. Furthermore, it is the vision of MBC to reach out to children, parents, and the

elderly with the love of God.

Section 3 — Values: The Values of Morton Baptist Church are grounded in the word of God. It is

our lamp post, our anchor in the storm of this world; it is our guide and the only way that we can know

who God is and what actions He calls us to follow. Based on God’s Word, We Believe the following:

a. The Bible is God’s word, and that it is the Truth as well as being living and active (Hebrews

4:12).

b. Humanity is born into sin because of the fall of Adam and Eve. (Genesis 3).

c. Humanity is sinful by choice. (Galatians 5:17-21, Romans 1:20-25).

d. Because of our sinful nature and sinful choices we are separated from life with God. (Romas

3:23, 6:23).

e. Jesus came in the flesh as a man and yet was fully God. (John 1:1-5, 10:30, Matthew 1:18-25,

Luke 1:26-38).

f. Because of our sinful nature and choices, we are separated from God and yet it is Jesus’

work on the cross that has made the way to Him by placing faith and trust in Him and by

taking the Gospel to heart. (See John 14:6, Romans 2:23, Acts 20:12, Colossians 1:14, 1 John

1:5-7, 2:3-6, 3:7, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 John 3:18-21, 1 John 2:3).

g. Salvation, is life with God forever which only comes through Jesus and the actions of Jesus

upon the cross. (John 14:6).

h. Salvation though Jesus is the Gospel.

i. Acceptance (Romans 2:23),

ii. Repentance (Acts 20:12),

iii. Forgiveness (Colossians 1:14),

iv. Obedience (1 John 1:5-7, 2:3-6, 3:7)

These are the actions of having believed the Gospel. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8, John 3:18-21, 1 John 2:3 ).

i. God is the Creator of all things. (Genesis 1).

3

j. God as Creator has set out what is right and wrong based in His character and nature and

that it is spelled out in the Word of God. (Ex 20, Matthew 5, 1 John 1:5-6).

k. God created man and woman. (Genesis 5:2).

l. God is the author of marriage and that it is intended to be a monogamous covenant

between a man and a woman. (Genesis 2:18-24).

m. One day Jesus will return to take those that have life in Him through salvation to Heaven.

(John 14:1-4).

n. Jesus will one day judge the living and the dead. (1Peter 4:5, 2 Timothy 4:1).

o. We stand firmly rooted in God’s words in 1 John 1:5-6, “5 This is the message which we

have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness

at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and

do not practice the truth.” (NKJV).

Our values are clearly stated in who God is and what He has said is right and wrong which are

based in the 66 books of the Old and New Testament known in the world as the Bible. We (members of

Morton Baptist Church) will hold forth the word of life, stand firm on the word of truth and seek ever to

bring men, women and children to a saving knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ. This will be done by the

working of the Holy Spirit in and through us each and every day. This is what makes us the church of

Jesus, and it is this work in us that will show the light of Jesus to a world in darkness.
